Design without making an account
Open OpenTempl and start. There is nothing to sign up for, no email to give and no login to remember. Your designs are saved on your device. It is not affiliated with Canva.

What no account means
There is no OpenTempl account. The app does not know who you are, so it has no profile to keep, no sign in screen and no trial that ends. Starting a live session with someone works from a link, not from accounts.
When this matters
- School and work computers where signing up is blocked.
- Kids and classrooms, where nobody should hand an email address to a design tool.
- Quick jobs: a poster for tonight, a menu for tomorrow.
- People who would rather not be in yet another database.
The trade offs
No account also means no cloud. Your designs live on the device where you made them.
- Nothing syncs between your phone, laptop and desktop.
- In the web version, clearing your browser data removes your designs. Export the OpenTempl file for anything you want to keep.
- To work on another computer, move the file.
- If you want to share a design with someone else live, start a session and send the link. It runs directly between browsers and is encrypted with a key in the link.
Back up your work
Export an OpenTempl file from the File menu. It holds the whole design, with its pictures and video clips, and opens on any computer with OpenTempl. Version history keeps a snapshot every ten minutes inside the app.
What does need a key
The Generate tab makes images with your own OpenAI key. The key stays on your device. That is the one place an account exists, and it is yours with OpenAI, not with OpenTempl.
Questions
Is my data collected?
There is no OpenTempl account, and no OpenTempl server stores your designs. Fonts load from Google Fonts. The facts page lists exactly what needs a connection.
Can I collaborate without accounts?
Yes. Start a live session and send the link. Both people edit at once, and each sees the other's cursor.
How do I move designs to another computer?
Export the OpenTempl file, copy it over, and open it there.
