Make a poster in five steps
- Open the editor and pick a size. A3 portrait is the usual poster; A4, square and landscape are there too, and you can type your own.
- Choose a style. Swiss grid for order, riso zine for ink and grain, Seoul and Tokyo for dense colour, brutalist for blunt type. All 34 are on the templates page.
- Replace the words and the picture. Double click text to edit. Drop a photo onto a frame and drag inside it to crop. Remove a photo's background if you need to.
- Check it. The design check flags text that does not stand out from what is behind it, text that is too small, photos that will print soft and anything that sits off the page.
- Export. PNG for screens, PDF for print, SVG if you want to keep editing in a vector tool.
For print
Choose the print PDF and set the bleed. OpenTempl adds the extra edge and crop marks that print shops ask for. Photos need enough pixels for the size you print, and the design check tells you when one does not. OpenTempl works in RGB; it has no CMYK output yet, so if your printer requires CMYK, ask whether they convert for you.

Questions
Is there a watermark?
No.
What resolution can I export?
PNG up to 4x the page size. At A3 that is a large file. PDF keeps text and vectors sharp at any size.
Can I print it at a shop?
Yes. Export the print PDF with bleed and crop marks and take it in. Ask whether they need CMYK.
Can I use my own fonts?
Yes. Add any font file, and it works offline.
Does it work offline?
Yes, after it has loaded once. See what needs a connection.
